Journeying through his days as a member of DEVO through the present\, Myopia includes an intriguing collection of Mark Mothersbaugh’s music (presented via music videos\, record players in the gallery and his own unique orchestrions)\, personal artifacts\, 30\,000 postcard-sized works\, sculptures\, rugs and digital media works. This exhibit is revealing\, inspiring and mind-boggling. Don’t miss it!! The final day is April 26\, 2015. During the Doors Open Denver weekend\, visitors can stop by any or all (we dare you to visit all 57) of the participating locations around Denver to casually tour through for FREE. A variety of insider tours are also available for $10\, but must be reserved ahead of time. DOD sites include 6 museums that will offer free admission (Denver Art Museum\, Kirkland Museum\, Denver Firefighter’s Museum\, Forney Transportation Museum\, Byers-Evans and the Clyfford Still Museum)\, many beautiful historic buildings like the Equitable Building and Sugar Building\, and some newer projects like the DaVita World Headquarters. DESCRIPTION:A great exhibit deserves a great send off\, right? As one last hurrah\, the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) will host a 31-hour-long party to celebrate the weird and wonderful\, inspired and inspiring work of Mark Mothersbaugh before his Myopia exhibit heads off on its national tour. Some highlights of the event include: Skype bedtime stories with Mark Mothersbaugh\, stargazing on the rooftop deck\, a midnight tour with Adam Lerner (Director of MCA)\, 80s karaoke in the cafe\, tarot card readings\, an early morning dance party and a final goodbye with drum-line at 5 pm on Sunday. Tickets are only $5 between 5p and 5a. See you there!
