SUMMARY:**Final Week** Artist Select: Mark Mothersbaugh
DESCRIPTION:Artist Mark Mothersbaugh (he just had a solo show at the Museum of Contemporary Art called Myopia) was asked to select pieces from the Clyfford Still collection and then compose original music inspired by the art. Mothersbaugh selected 4 pastel drawings in the Still collection to make up his curated exhibit which provide a fun counterbalance to the large-scale paintings Still is famous for. Go “hear” some great art before this special exhibit closes! \nGTK: The Still Museum is FREE every Friday from 5p – 8p.

SUMMARY:Classic Film Series: Soylent Green '73
DESCRIPTION:Enjoy free classic films with the fun-loving folks of the Fresh City Life office at the Denver Public Library Central branch. Films are shown in the B2 Conference Room at Central. \nAbout “Soylent Green”: Starring Charlton Heston\, Edward G. Robinson\, and Leigh Taylor. Directed by Richard Fleischer. “Richard Fleischer’s Soylent Green is a good\, solid science-fiction movie\, and a little more. It tells the story of New York in the year 2022\, when the population has swollen to an unbelievable 80 million\, and people live in the streets and line up for their rations of water and Soylent Green. That’s a high-protein foodstuff allegedly made from plankton cultivated in the seas. But is it?” – Roger Ebert. This is Charlton Heston in his greatest gotcha moment on screen after the finale of The Planet of the Apes.  97 minutes. Rated PG. \nMore event info.
