SUMMARY:Summer on the Plaza Concert: Max Hatt/Edda Glass
DESCRIPTION:Wednesdays are better with music! Arts Brookfield presents a series of free concerts at 1801 California on Wednesdays\, 5:30p – 7p in July to highlight rising stars of the Denver music scene\, and of course\, to help downtown workers to unwind after a day at the office. Concertgoers can enjoy happy hour specials at Guard and Grace\, adjacent to the plaza. \nMore info: http://artsbrookfield.com/events/?action=tribe_list&tribe_paged=1&tribe-bar-venue-field=781 \nWednesday\, July 8  – Science Partner\nScience Partner is a six-piece rock band that showcases lush\, three-part harmonies\, walls of guitars\, a tight rhythm section and unabashedly catchy pop arrangements. Made up of members of some of Denver’s finest and busiest bands\, their performances are somewhat rare but highly polished. Science Partner’s lyrical content ranges from the exiguity of humanity to the fleeting fame of a child. \nWednesday\, July 15 – Covenhoven\nColorado musician Joel Van Horne releases music under the moniker Covenhoven\, also the name given to the cabin his grandfather built deep in the woods of southern Wyoming between 1955 and 1965. His music has been referred to as “symphonic folk” and “mountain music.” \nWednesday\, July 22 – Max Hatt/Edda Glass\nMatt Hatt/Edda Glass describes their collaboration as an experiment to determine if complex\, sophisticated music is still culturally relevant\, with the ability to narrate human situations and resonate without translation and abstraction. The duo identifies their music as Bossa Nova\, Brazilian jazz\, jazz Americana and vocal jazz. \nWednesday\, July 29 – Whiskey Folk\nWhiskey Folk’s “folk noir” blends ominous\, reverb-dripping guitars with boot-stomping train beats and funereal horns to create sonic backdrops for down-on-your-luck ballads and beer-soaked anthems. Presented by Arts Brookfield\, Summer on the Plaza is just one of the exciting\, world-classcultural experiences presented to hundreds of thousands of people for free each year atBrookfield’s properties around the globe\, which include 1801 California and Republic Plaza\, located in downtown Denver.
