SUMMARY:City Park Art and Fountains Tour - Free!
DESCRIPTION:Tour participants will board buses to visit roughly a dozen artworks including the historical sculptures\, fountains and gateways of City Park on this tour led by DIA Public Art Coordinator Mandy Renaud and by Denver Parks and Recreation Field Supervisor Harry Hill. The tour will include recent public art additions such as Iridescent Cloud located near the Denver Museum of Nature and Science and Avian Front located along the south end of the Denver Zoo. Harry Hill will lead a discussion on the history and color of the fountains; how they operate and on-going issues faced with operation and maintenance. DESCRIPTION:**Note: This is the final Meet in the Street event of the 2015 season.** \nLet’s play! Meet in the Street is all about turing 16th Street Mall into a playful place for pedestrians to hang out\, relax and enjoy a sunny Sunday. Free\, fun and friendly! \nWhere will the shuttles go? The 16th Street Free MallRide service will be detoured onto 15th and 17th Streets via the Free MetroRide busses all day to make room for the activities\, allowing the public to experience the mall free of bus traffic. Attendees are encouraged to take advantage of the bike- and pedestrian-friendly access in what are typically lanes restricted for buses. \nPlanned Activities: TBA \nParticipating Mall Businesses: TBA \nLive Music: TBA \nKids Areas: The entire Mall will feature family-friendly activities\, but visit the block between California and Stout where little ones can play kiddie beach volleyball; enjoy free face-painting; and select from a variety of free books to take home from the Denver Public Library’s mobile DPL Connect Book Trike.
