With more than 250 films that include blockbusters\, docs\, shorts\, Colorado films\, international films\, student films\, and indies\, you’re sure to find more than one film you can’t wait to see. In addition to the films\, there are also some fascinating speakers. The organizer of this festival\, the Denver Film Society\, has worked tirelessly since 1978 to promote the medium as both an art form and a civic forum through screenings\, community outreach projects and unique special events all year long. DESCRIPTION:About Artist Petah Coyne: Petah Coyne’s sculptures convey tension between vulnerability and aggression\, innocence and seduction\, beauty and decadence\, and\, ultimately\, life and death. Existing between the boundaries of figuration and abstraction\, they incorporate unconventional materials such as tree roots\, sand\, human hair\, scrap metal\, silk flowers\, Velcro\, religious statuary\, and taxidermy. She thinks of her sculpture as bodies in movement thus linking the installations to her photography\, which also captures bodies in movement.
