With more than 250 films that include blockbusters\, docs\, shorts\, Colorado films\, international films\, student films\, and indies\, you’re sure to find more than one film you can’t wait to see. In addition to the films\, there are also some fascinating speakers. The organizer of this festival\, the Denver Film Society\, has worked tirelessly since 1978 to promote the medium as both an art form and a civic forum through screenings\, community outreach projects and unique special events all year long. He’s an urban columnist at Canada’s largest newspaper\, The Toronto Star\, and an editor and co-owner of Spacing—the independent\, national\, Jane Jacobs Prize-winning magazine dedicated to looking at what makes Canadian cities work. Micallef is also interested in how technology and social media integrate into cities\, and how they make them better. \nAbout the IMAGINE 2020 Speaker Series: \nIMAGINE 2020 is Denver’s recently adopted cultural plan.
