DESCRIPTION:Join the Tattered Cover Book Store\, UCD’s College of Arts & Media\, KUNC 91.5\, and the Sie FilmCenter (in the Lowenstein CulturePlex\, next door to the Tattered Cover Colfax Avenue) for an exploration of the world of classic movies\, hosted by film critic Howie Movshovitz. All programs begin at 1:00 pm. Tickets are $1.00\, and are available one hour before the screening from the box office. Parking is available in the parking lot off of Elizabeth or Columbine Streets. \nAbout the Film: Three stories—all involve music and people—unspool in Memphis. It’s eccentric\, like all good Jim Jarmusch films\, and unexpected elements come together\, as in all good Jim Jarmusch films. This one also has the strange and haunting Screamin’ Jay Hawkins somehow at the center of things— along with the unseen Elvis Presley\, of course. Shot with rich unease by the great Robby Müller. DESCRIPTION:Music was part of Still’s life from an early age. Still played piano and memorized works by Beethoven\, Chopin\, and Schubert.
