DESCRIPTION:Artists are painters\, filmmakers\, dancers\, writers\, and musicians. But can they also be citizens\, neighbors\, and change agents? Would the world be a better place if we tapped artists as natural community assets who can help create real change in neighborhoods? The Laundromat Project (The LP) deeply believes so. By investing in artists\, they amplify the creativity that already exists within communities while building community networks\, solving problems\, and enhancing a local sense of ownership. Every day\, The LP grapples with both the power and the challenges of being a good and artful citizen\, neighbor\, and catalyst for change within diverse settings.
