SUMMARY:Raising the Brand of Government in Colorado
DESCRIPTION:Raising the Brand of Government in Colorado\nIn a time of uncharted waters in Washington\, D.C.\, state and local policies are arguably more important than ever. Please join us on Friday\, March 3\, for an engaging discussion on the future direction of efficiency in the Colorado state government. \nAdditional information and panelist names are below. \nWhen: 7:30-9 a.m. Friday\, March 3\, 2017\nWhere: Terrace Room (2nd floor)\, 1380 Lawrence Street\, Denver (map)\nAdmission: Free\, but space is limited! Breakfast will be served.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister Now\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMore Information: \nColorado Governor John Hickenlooper has stated that we need to “raise the brand of government” by operating more efficiently\, effectively\, and being more entrepreneurial. If citizens are to support their democracy\, they need to see elected and appointed government officials are delivering programs effectively and improving the public’s quality of life. \nOur panel will discuss the initiatives currently aiming to accomplish these goals: what has been accomplished so far\, next steps\, barriers\, opportunities for participation and their role in “raising the brand of government.” These programs include the Peak Academy\, GELA and TLI. \nRun by the City of Denver\, the Peak Academy empowers employees to streamline their work processes and save money. The Government Entrepreneurial Leadership Accelerator (GELA) program is an effort to bring a more entrepreneurial perspective to city government and to save money. At the state level\, the Lieutenant Governor’s office has been developing goals and metrics to demonstrate improved performance. Finally\, The Leaders Initiative (TLI) is a private-sector program to train business leaders to prepare for state government positions to foster new ideas and bring entrepreneurial thinking to existing issues. \nPanelists: \n\nLauren Larson\, Deputy Director for Operations\, Office of the Lieutenant Governor and Chief Operating Officer\, State of Colorado\nMeegan Moszynski\, President\, Quarterly Forum/The Leaders Initiative\nBrian Elms\, Director\, Denver Peak Academy and Analytics\nBrad Revare\, GELA Program Head and Director of Business Partnerships\, CareerWise Colorado\n\nModerator: Paul Teske\, Dean\, School of Public Affairs (and co-author of Public Entrepreneurs: Agents for Change in Local Government\, 1995).\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIf you are unable to attend\, tune in remotely! Join us by phone\, computer or tablet by clicking this link at the scheduled start time. \nThis event is open to the public.

With scenes constructed from her personal cabinet of curiosities\, Carol Golemboski’s work recalls this sense of amazement. Her hand-abraded negatives with additions of drawings and text evoke the fears and fascinations of womanhood and evince hazy memories that might be real and might not. Golemboski is Associate Professor and Area Head of Photography at the University of Colorado Denver. Her monograph\, Psychometry\, was published by Flash Powder Press in 2016.\nView more info Here \nLecture tickets are $5 for students\, DAM members and CPAC members\n$10 for general admission.\nFor additional details\, e-mail photography@denverartmuseum.org. \nView More MoP Events at The Denver Art Museum Here
