SUMMARY:St. Patrick's Day Parade
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate your Irish heritage (real or imagined) with a festive parade through LoDo! The parade begins at 19th and Wynkoop\, proceeds down Wynkoop to 17th\, turns left onto 17th and continues to Blake\, then turns left onto Blake. The parade ends at 27th and Blake. Complete parade information. \nTop tips from the organizers: \n\nThe best place for families is at the end of the parade on Blake Street from 23th to 27th avenues.\nMarch can have rapid weather swings\, from cooler to even hot weather\, dress in layers and bring plenty of water.\nIf you want to see parade entries perform (dance\, play full sets of music or otherwise)  the best place is south of 2Oth avenue on Blake Street (which will be renamed Tooley Street for the Parade).  This is probably the most crowded area of the parade and is standing room only.  Many arrive as early as 6am to stake out a spot.

SUMMARY:Classic Film Series: Touch of Evil '58
DESCRIPTION:Enjoy free classic films with the fun-loving folks of the Fresh City Life office at the Denver Public Library Central branch. Films are shown in the B2 Conference Room at Central. \nAbout “Touch of Evil”: Starring Charlton Heston\, Orson Welles\, Janet Leigh\, and Marlene Dietrich. Directed by Orson Welles. “‘Come on\, read my future for me. You haven’t got any. What do you mean? Your future is all used up.’ So speaks a fortune-telling madam\, played by Marlene Dietrich\, to the drunken sheriff of a border town\, played by Orson Welles\, in Touch of Evil. Her words have a sad resonance\, because Welles was never again to direct in Hollywood after making this dark\, atmospheric story of crime and corruption.” rogerebert.com 95 minutes. Rated PG-13 \nMore event info.

SUMMARY:Grease is the Word! Grease Sing Along
DESCRIPTION:We love the playful spirit of the folks at the Fresh City Life office at the Denver Public Library. Here’s their description of this event: Last year’s The Sound of Music sing along was crazy fun\, so we are bringing back this event with another finger-snapping\, toe-tapping musical that you just can’t resist singing along to – Grease. This 1978 gem pairs John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John as star-crossed high school sweethearts. It was the career zenith for both of these actors and they really shine like supernovas on the silver screen. Prizes will be awarded for the best costumes\, so dust off your letterman jacket and your favorite poodle skirt. And be prepared to sing it loud – until you’ve got chills that are multiplyin’! 110 minutes. Rated PG 13. Seating is limited; registration encouraged. Register online or call 720-865-1206.

SUMMARY:The People Vs. ____________
DESCRIPTION:Warm Cookies of the Revolution is the world’s first “civic health club.” What does that mean? Well\, it means that through playful and creative events\, the folks at Warm Cookies want to help people engage with civic issues that impact our lives\, but might initially seem hard to unravel or at the very least not that fun (like taxes\, building codes\, laws\, political processes\, etc.). Improve your civic health and have a great time too! \nEvent Description from Warm Cookies of the Revolution: Have you ever wondered–why do we have Money? Or Kids? Or God? Or Police? Or the Constitution? We’ve challenged Denver’s top legal (and comic) minds to argue their case against some of the things\, like ‘em or not\, we take for granted. We (the People) are putting everything we hold dear on trial. How will they stand up against a prosecution? More info.
