SUMMARY:Tiny Library Concert: Natalie Tate and Pineross
DESCRIPTION:History Colorado presents a Tiny Library Concert double-header in December\, featuring Natalie Tate and Pineross! \nNatalie Tate (natalietatemusic.com) was the 2016 winner of the Denver Westword’s Best Singer-Songwriter award. A long-time fixture in Denver’s indie rock scene\, Tate makes ethereal\, roots-based indie pop blended with the sweet simplicity of her voice. Her latest beat-driven EP\, “Your Type\,” takes us to a hearts-vibrating\, lights-swirling\, eyes-closed dance-floor where we are brought back into the forgotten spaces inside of ourselves. Tate has performed nationally\, sharing stages with Ark Life\, Gregory Alan Isakov\, Futurebirds\, The Cave Singers and more. Her rotating cast of collaborators includes members of some of Denver’s best indie bands\, including The Still Tide\, Inner Oceans\, and Chimney Choir. \nPineross is the side project of Kevin Larkin\, multi-instrumentalist from Denver’s lauded Chimney Choir. As Pineross\, Larkin plays progressive Americana\, channeling the musical ghosts of “old\, weird America” into his hypnotic lyrics\, and the result is an addictive combination of traditional music of the American West\, Irish fiddle tunes\, and Spanish-influenced rhythms. The music of Pineross “re-casts an American past… fluently\, with eyes as encompassing as Walt Whitman’s.” (Independent Clauses) \nHistory Colorado’s Tiny Library Concert series features performances by local Colorado musicians in the unusual and intimate space of the museum’s Stephen H. Hart Library & Research Center. Beer\, wine\, and cocktails available for purchase. \n[$9 – $12] \nMore info and tickets: http://www.historycolorado.org/event/tiny-library-concert-featuring-natalie-tate-and-pineross

SUMMARY:The Great Debate
DESCRIPTION:Buntport Theater’s “The Great Debate” pits teams of non-experts head-to-head\, toe-to-toe\, and often dumb-and-dumber in lively debates of the inconsequential. Mundane topics are brought to life by ordinary\, but opinionated folks. You’re bound to be a flip-flopper after listening to compelling arguments on things that never mattered. New topics every month! \nAbout this month’s installment: “We feel as though 2016 really forced us to grow up. We think you’ll be impressed with the level of our maturity when you find out that the debate topic is: Pu-pu platters vs Lake Titicaca \nBoom. We’re adulting like crazy. \nMake a reservation now so you can hear compelling arguments from our panel of experts: Hannah Duggan\, Brian Colonna\, Kim Kutt\, Roger Norquist\, Mike Marlow\, Laura Jo Trexler\, Rachel Weeks\, and Eryc Eyl.” \n[$7 online ($6-$8 at the door)] \nMore info and tickets: http://buntport.com/2016/09/third-tuesdays/

SUMMARY:Unsilent Night: Caroling with Smartphones
DESCRIPTION:Join in a luminous walking symphony of smart phones\, mp3 players\, and boomboxes when we envelope downtown Denver with NYC composer Phil Kline’s UNSILENT NIGHT\, a unique community caroling event where the audience becomes the performer. Gather on the front steps of Central Presbyterian Church (Sherman St at 17th St) at 6p and you’ll be treated to some hot chocolate and instructions on performing the piece. Bring a smartphone with a portable bluetooth speaker or other means of amplification (it’s recommended to download the app or mp3 at unsilentnight.com/participate.hml prior to the event). Everyone will press play simultaneously at 6:30p and begin to walk a carefully chosen route through downtown Denver.
