Denver Rocks! Let's do cool things!
For six decades, Clyfford Still’s work was infrequently exhibited in this country and very seldom seen outside the U.S. Now, thanks to Abstract Expressionism—the first major international exhibition on abstract expressionism since 1959, coming to London’s Royal Academy of Art and Spain’s Guggenheim Bilbao—nine of Still’s most iconic works from Denver’s collection will be on view to millions from the fall of 2016 until the summer of 2017.
In order to be included in this great adventure, PH-247 of 1951, a Clyfford Still Museum fan favorite affectionately known as “Big Blue,” will come down from the Museum’s walls for the first time ever. Join the museum for a celebration of blue as we say “bon voyage” on Thursday, July 7.
