Café des Arts – Le Louvre in 3 Cafés

September 25, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Join the Alliance Française for a look at one of the world’s most famous museums, the Louvre! Presentations are open to all and given in English, with some French too.

After being the French kings’ palace, Le Louvre became the most visited museum in the world and one of the most famous. It is also a scientific laboratory for the Arts.

In a series of three Cafés des Arts with a new format, we will examine its amazing history and fantastic collections and the importance it played in Western culture.

We will look at the building as well as the historical events which led to its collections and then try to understand a few of the greatest art pieces in its collections.

Each Café will be an independent presentation, engaging research in a separate field and historical period. Drinks and snacks are included.
