City Park Jazz heads into its 28th season with a great lineup of FREE Sunday concerts in the park. Spanning 10 weeks across June, July and August, the collection of local musicians in this year’s lineup crosses cultures, styles and genres in a way that reflects the musical and cultural diversity of Denver. So pack a picnic or pick up some dinner along Colfax Ave. or 17th before heading into the park and don’t forget a picnic blanket or lawn chairs. These concerts are fun for all ages and a great way to spend a summer evening in the city.
Freddy Rodriguez, Sr., at 83-years-old, has the led the Jazz Connection for more than 30 years performing nightly at Denver’s famed El Chapultepec Jazz Club. This tribute concert features Freddy, Sr. on sax, his son Freddy, Jr. on keyboard and vocals, Tony Black on drums and Andrew Hudson on bass.
