Don’t let the title of this April lecture series from the The Museum of Contemporary Art fool you! While yes, you will be be exploring contemporary culture through issues relating to women and gender, you’ll also find yourself entertained, intrigued and really glad you came. With film screenings, creative performances, lectures and panel discussions, these events address women’s (and men’s) complicated relationship to art, politics and sexuality, but aren’t intimidating or boring. About the Infidelity Lecture: What percentage of married women are adulterous? How many will admit it? Do emotional affairs really count as cheating? Join us for a frank discussion on the ins and outs of infidelity. Psychologist Beth Allen discusses her research on the impact of cheating on marriages; family lawyer Marte Timmers weighs in with a legal perspective; and professor of media studies Brian Ott discusses contemporary depictions of infidelity in film and television.
