Girls STEAM Day

September 10th will be a day filled with engaging and hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) activities dedicated to empowering girls and young women towards careers in STEAM, in aerospace and beyond. Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum is partnering with fellow institutions, industry-leaders and experts in STEAM to bring attendees a comprehensive overview of how to get involved in STEAM, what STEAM is and how these fields can be used for personal and career development.

The Girls STEAM Day event will cap attendance at 1,200: 700 pre-registrations and 500 walk-ups.

  • The first 300 people through the door will receive lunch from A Spice of Life Catering (Pre-registering does not guarantee a meal ticket. Tickets will be distributed on a first come, first served basis)

Workshops: (geared towards kids ages 10-17)

  • Core drilling with cupcakes by AIAA
  • Human survival at high altitudes using Peeps
  • Jewelry making by Natalia Brown
  • Make your own flashlight
  • Fine art from Alicia & Candace
  • Beginning lessons in riveting

(Each session is capped at 20 people. Sign-ups will be onsite—First come, first served)

During workshop times, a variety of subject matter experts will be taking questions from the audience.
