Lawn Concert: Paa Kow

June 17, 2016 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

The Clyfford Still Museum and Swallow Hill Music are pleased to present three free summer lawn concerts (one in June, July and August) in the Museum’s forecourt. Bring a picnic and celebrate summer in the city. Delicious ice cream sandwiches from Peteybird, local microbrews from Baere Brewing Co., and gourmet sausages from Biker Jim’s will also be available at each event.

Paa Kow is an internationally renowned drum set player, bandleader, composer, and producer from Ghana who began to play music and tour with his family’s concert band at a very early age. He has grown to be widely recognized as one of the most remarkable drum set players to tour in Africa, Europe, and America. Captivating and danceable, his songs incorporate lyrics in his native language, Fante, as well as English. Kow has shared the stage with African greats Amakye Dede, George Darko, Kojo Antwi, Nat Brew, Hugh Masekela, and Vusi Mahlasela, as well as American greats Victor Wooten, Brad Goode, John Gunther, Michael Kang, and many more.
