Play Space in the Park: Building With Sunshine

Children and families are invited to join RedLine in artist-led creative play sessions at Mestizo-Curtis Park on Saturdays, 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM throughout the summer. The program is FREE and open to the public. Registration is NOT required and all ages are invited to join the fun.

Session 1 (June 4th, 11th and 18th): Hayley Krichels will present Building With Sunshine, in which families will use the park as inspiration for large scale fabric cyanotypes and fort building.
Session 2 (June 25th, July 2nd and 9th): Rochelle Johnson and Risa Murray will present Painting Your Community, where families will have the opportunity to paint t-shirts and collaborate on a mural.
Session 3 (July 16th, 23rd and 30th): Ramón Bonilla’s People and the Living Architecture will turn families into cities by way of wearable architecture.
Session 4 (Aug 6th, 13th and 20th): George P. Perez’s Walk with Me (An exercise in visual guidance) will feature camera obscura helmets, which distort the wearer’s vision, requiring them to navigate the world in a different way.
