Tattered Cover Film Series: Place de la République (1974)

Join the Tattered Cover Book Store, UCD’s College of Arts & Media, KUNC 91.5, and the Sie FilmCenter (in the Lowenstein CulturePlex, next door to the Tattered Cover Colfax Avenue) for an exploration of the world of classic movies, hosted by film critic Howie Movshovitz. All programs begin at 1:00 pm. Tickets are $1.00, and are available one hour before the screening from the box office. Parking is available in the parking lot off of Elizabeth or Columbine Streets.
About the Film: When Louis Malle made this documentary 40 years ago, the Place de la Republique was not yet famous for the mourning after the attacks on Paris in January and November of 2015. Here, Malle finds the extraordinary in scenes of daily life, and for us, it can be something of an introduction to a place that has also been joyous. (95 minutes)
