Transformation and Preservation: The Evolution of Downtown Denver from 1858 to 2046

In honor of the 50th anniversary of the National Historic Preservation Act, History Colorado hosts graduate students from the University of Colorado Denver’s College of Architecture and Planning. They’ll reveal how downtown Denver’s built environment has evolved since the city’s original settlement and highlight preservation victories and defeats. They’ll explore the environmental, cultural and economic forces that transform urban places and take a peek into downtown Denver of 2046. (student previews start at 10 A.M.)
