CHICAGO! What an outrageously fun show! I think I might have been grinning the whole 2.5 hours. While the set is minimal aside from a couple of ladders, some chairs and a band stand, the quality of the dance numbers, the energy of the actors and the excellence of the singing is anything but basic. The playful storyline draws you in, while the catchy jazz-inspired songs put you under a spell that leaves you feeling like you could Charleston all the way home after the curtain falls.
“Chicago” is in town thru 12/3 at the Buell. See it if you can!
