Are our needs and hopes being met?\n\n“That sounds boring…and hard.”\nThat’s what we’re trying to avoid. We are about fun. We know that people work hard all day and are raising families and often the last thing they want to do is go hear a boring lecture on the city budget or be told that the world is falling apart no matter what we do.\n\nSo\, we try to answer the questions “What do we want?” and “How do we get there?” by hosting events that are creative and fun.\nWant to talk about how government should be run? Fine\, but we’re going to build a LEGO city together while it happens! You’re telling me I have to write my elected officials?…okay\, but there better be warm cookies and some milk there…and possibly dance breaks.\n\nThe truth is that those of us who enjoy watching football on Sundays\, and those of us who like to knit\, or bake\, or tell stupid jokes\, or wish we could walk down the fashion runways of Paris\, or like to build robots….we all have the capacity to understand and take part in the decisions that affect our lives. SUMMARY:Inside the Orchestra: Tiny Tots
DESCRIPTION:Tiny Tots gets children truly “inside the orchestra” by seating the audience on the floor and surrounding them with our 30+ piece professional orchestra. The conductor faces the audience and talk directly to the kids throughout the performance\, asking questions and teaching them about the music as it is playing around them.\n\nDesigned for children six and under\, this 45-minute program gives young ones the chance to interact with the conductor and the musicians and learn about the instruments in the process. Children are encouraged to respond to different elements of the music\, from thinking about how music makes them feel to getting on their feet and moving. They are treated to up-close-and-personal demos by various instruments\, introduced to musical concepts\, emotional understanding of the arts\, and artistic expression. The music selection\, design\, and scripting of Tiny Tots is geared to connect very young children with music – physically\, emotionally\, and mentally.\n\nChildren are also introduced to instrument “families” and are encouraged to take a closer look at the instruments and ask questions of the musicians after the concert has concluded. Heriberto is a traveling international instructor specializing in Latin and Swing. Rachel is a multidisciplinary dancers as well\, swing\, jazz\, and latin. These two have taught for us before and they are back for a good reason…they are top notch fusion dancers. This time they will be teaching Kizomba Basics! \nKizomba Basics – 8:00pm: Kizomba is a joyful style of dance that blends a romantic beat with the African rhythms of Angola. Its movements stem from a combination of Semba and Zouk from the French Caribbean. This class will cover the basic steps that you need to dance an entire night of Kizomba.
