52 NEW: Executive Producer

February 23, 2019

As of last weekend, I’m an executive producer! For the past two weekends, I’ve worked with Trish Tolentino and Jess of Stories Not Forgotten and Rebekah Henderson of Tan Tigress to film a series of videos that will become part of an exciting zine-making curriculum project I’m working on called From A to Zine. This IMAGINE 2020 Fund grant-winning project will bring zine making into 4th-8th grade classrooms as a way to celebrate and amplify student voices.

Zines are a great way to support students in finding their own voice, exploring art-making and even discovering entrepreneurship. Students will get to learn from local zine makers through a series of online videos and then share the zines they create during the month of May at pop-up zine reading rooms around the city!

At each tutoring session with Reading Partners, you’ll receive a complete packet with a step-by-step lesson plan and all the materials you’ll need. Truly, if you can read, you can become a reading tutor with Reading Partners. Learn more: readingpartners.org/location/colorado/
