Dreams Delivered

November 9, 2017

With the Dream Delivery Service, Mathias Svalina writes and delivers dreams to subscribers every day for a month. To nearby subscribers, Svalina hand-delivers the dreams—brief surrealist narratives he writes & encloses in small pink envelopes–to their doors, biking through the empty streets of Denver before dawn.

Svalina started the Dream Delivery Service 2014, hoping to devise a new sort of relationship with a reader, a new kind of reading intimacy. In addition to his delivery service, throughout November Svalina will meet visitors & transcribe their dreams to collect in The Big Book of Denver Dreams, & host events of embodied dream-logic in the Understudy space (890 C 14th St.), bringing the personal framework of the dream into social settings:

11/9: Residency Kickoff Party
11/16: The Denver Dream-In: Open-Mike Storytelling for Dreams
11/21: Dreameaning: A Night of Collaborative Dream Divination
11/30: The Dream Feast: Surrealist & Visionary Recipes to Close Out the Residency

You can subscribe to a month of daily-delivered dreams at dreamdeliveryservice.com and learn more about the Kickoff Party and other events HERE.

But wait, you say, I don’t know anything about teaching a kid to read! No problem. At each tutoring session with Reading Partners, you’ll receive a complete packet with a step-by-step lesson plan and all the materials you’ll need. Truly, if you can read, you can become a reading tutor with Reading Partners. Learn more: readingpartners.org/location/colorado/

Neighborhood Ties: Lincoln Park

“Every house in that neighborhood is 120+ years old. Our house is 127, I believe. It's a 1,400-squart-foot Victorian with a great yard. And it's historic from a foliage perspective too. We have great old trees.”  -Ricardo Baca, Lincoln Park neighbor  Continue Reading
