Science Lounge: Domestic Bliss

April 21, 2016 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Sweet Fluffy and playful Fido may have been artfully bred, or may have lived life more on the wild side. Probe into pet pedigree and our relationship to all things wild, with wolves, chickens, service animals, and more at this petting zoo of domestic proportion. Sip a beverage at the bar and get into the genetics of adaptation, but leave Fluffy and Fido at home.

At 7:15 or 8 p.m.:
Learn about the domestication of horses with Dr. Stephen Coleman from Colorado State University

Throughout the night:
Visit a petting zoo with live chickens, goats, ducks, sheep and more
Meet adorable therapy dogs Rosie and Gracie
Make a toy to donate to the Dumb Friends League or take it home for your pet
Clicker train your date (or a friend!)
Compare domestic and wild canines, birds and felines from the Museum’s zoology collections
Chat with the Bird Conservancy of the Rockies about the birds in your backyard

Tickets: $13 for DMNS members; $15 for nonmembers
