About the Film: Three stories—all involve music and people—unspool in Memphis. It’s eccentric, like all good Jim Jarmusch films, and unexpected elements come together, as in all good Jim Jarmusch films. This one also has the strange and haunting Screamin’ Jay Hawkins somehow at the center of things— along with the unseen Elvis Presley, of course. Shot with rich unease by the great Robby Müller. (110 minutes)
