Painted City

Debuting Wednesday, April 13th, 2016 our 12-week Painted City series will explore the world of Denver’s street art murals through weekly feature interviews with the artists who created them. Each installment of the series will coincide with the release of limited edition hand-painted macarons inspired by the featured artist’s work at Black Eye Coffee Cap Hill (8th & Sherman). This is going to be deliciously fun and fascinating!

Gemma Danielle – @optimysticism Weaving a world of surreal dreamscapes and captivating geometry, Gemma conjures a sort of Pythagorean quantum mysticism in her work. She plays with mathematical theory inspired by Torsion Field Physics, Sacred Geometry, and our experience of the many dimensions in Quantum theory.

Painted City: Victoriano Rivera -
Victoriano Rivera – @yungleeo Victoriano grew up in Harlingen, Texas (located at the southern tip of Texas, 30 miles from the Gulf of Mexico), and came to Colorado to attend the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design (RMCAD) where he earned a BFA in Fine Art Painting in 2014.

Mike Graves – @mikeroane Mike grew up in Lakewood, Colorado and moved to Denver after high school. From 2003 to 2006, he lived in Hawaii where he made his first art sales along Waikiki. Before creating murals, Mike focused on producing work for gallery shows around Denver.
Painted City: Sandra Fettingis -
Sandra Fettingis – @sandrafettingis Sandra was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, but has lived in Denver for 9 1/2 years. She is an artist in residence at Redline and works in the mediums of paint, glass, acrylic and wood.
Painted City: Jeremy Burns -
Jeremy Burns – @jaysaybay Jeremy grew up in Colorado Springs and Crested Butte, Colorado, the son of two teachers. He graduated with a BFA in painting and printmaking from Western State in Gunnison and moved to Denver in 2002. He has lived and worked in RiNo since 2004.

Molly Bounds – @moldybongs Molly grew up in Aurora, Colorado and graduated from Metro State University. She works in a variety of formats including prints, paintings, digital media and comics, frequently mixing techniques and experimenting with new processes while making a finished piece. She has a studio space at The Temple in Five Points.

Pedro Barrios – @pbarriosart Pedro was born in Miami, Florida, and raised in Venezuela until the age of seven.
